Seriously. i hate how people think Sony is "OMGZ THE BESTEST EVAR" and everything else sucks. Doesn't mean everyone agrees with that person. I have no interest in the PS3, and nothing anyone can say is going to change that. I have a huge problem with what Sony is doing to the video game industry, by driving the price of a VIDEO GAME SYSTEM to the point where you can buy a good laptop cheaper than a Playstation 3 with one game.

And there big on this Blue-ray thing. DVD was a far bigger upgrade that was available to anyone. Because of it's low price. not just people with HD TVs, and that didnt sell to the average consumer til it dropped below $300

Some people that that next gen systems are not automatically costing that much. Nintendo's new system is at most going to be $250, if not cheaper. That's a good price for a video game system...$199 would be nicer, but $250, $300 is acceptable to me. Anything higher than $300 is not. I don't care if it's released by Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, or anyone else.

Bottom line is I think anything over $300 is too expensive for a video game system, and all the companies except Nintendo right now are way too concerned with making "home entertainment systems that, oh by the way, they play some TV game thingy". It's unfortunate because I think the last gen of systems were actually video game systems. Including Sony and Microsoft. I'm not bashing these companies or saying "OMG Nintendo rules!", but the bottom line is video game systems are getting way too expensive, to the point where I can get a cheap laptop for the same price.

The price is way to high though, IMO.

I think the PS3 is not overpriced. The stuff inside he Ps3 is way more than $600 like Blueray, Cell, RSX, etc...But I wouldn't buy a game console for $600 ever. I'd rater buy new computer. It's true, the PS3 will be the most powerful console, but in terms of graphics which some people think are the whole thing to video games, you wouldn't be able to tell apart from the Xbox 360. In terms on video games, the games are the most important, not the hardware. So technically, the PS3is not overpriced, but reality, I think its overpriced for me. $600 is wayout of my budget. I have to pay tuition fees, rent, and everything.

Blu-ray players are like $1k but the PS3 is only 600.00? There's gonna be some kind of restriction to the ps3 blu ray b/c that just doesn't make sense... PS3 has encountered some major problems in production that hurt it's performance. And when it comes down to the games I gaurantee that MS gets more developers on board that Sony. I do hope that the PS3 is more powerful and has better games b/c I'm not biased to any console and if they keep getting better and better than that's good news for us! I really do enjoy my 360 and have no plans as of yet to purchase a ps3...

There aren't really any movies on Blu-Ray yet, so maybe that's why Sony Delayed it, probably not. In terms of graphics people say it's impossible to tell unless you look real close or something. In the ad I saw a Samsung Blu-Ray at $1,000.

Who voted that they think the ps3 wasn't over priced?

I did, it's a way more powerful machine and I think extreme gamers would pay that much for a machine they like and the games with all the power.

Its very much underpriced. You get to watch HD DVDs on a $600 unit. $400 cheaper than Panasonics player that only plays movies. I think this will be the best $600 I ever spent.

I can't wait to play Ps3 at Target or whatever store has it. Probably Target cause I work there.

Im in between.. i will deff not get it at launch i will wait to see how people really think it is im not sure it is very expensive but not overpriced

it's not really overpriced!! the 360 is £280 then you have to pay £60 for a wireless adapter which make to price £340, secondly it's much more popular they will wanna make to price i little bit more higher and it's gona be more powerfull etc.

Yeah, the PS3 is more powerful so it has more powerful parts. The more powerful the parts are, the more expencive they are. If Sony ever thinks about raising the price, I'm sure they will lose many Playstation Fans.

I cant say if it is as of now. I havent tried it yet. When I test it...I'll be able to say for sure.
