Well, that thing sure is loud. But when I turn off my 360, the power supply light is orange, is this normal?

When I turned it off, I notice my 360 was kinda hot...normal?

DANG, should have waited until that small CPU got released....
I'd say the light is more yellow than orange but yea I could see it being called orange. It being hot is kinda normal for the earlier models. Mine is brand new and it doesn't get hot at all. Recommend you get the intercooler.

Also if you have it laying down (horizontal) stand it up (vertical).
I got mine in March or April and initially had it standing up, decided to lay it down and still have no problems w/ it... I couldn't imagine there would be a difference, isn't it designed to go both ways?

yeah it is

Yes it is but alot of more people experience heating problems with it lay down.
Mine is laying down on top of my cable box which gets warm too... still no problems...

This has nothing to do with your 360 cpu. The cpu is 90nm and doesnt produce that much heat. 99% of the heat problems are from the GPU and PSU. Make sure both fans are working and make sure you have in an open area. Orange light usually means its loading. Red light means its time to worry.

You mean on the bulky power supply box (wait... does PSU mean power supply unit?)?
PSU means power supply unit and GPU means Graphics processing unit.
Will that Intercooler thing give my Xbox 360 more life?

Anytime you can reduce heat you are giving your system more life. Same goes with computers.

IS putting the PSU further away from the 360 good?

couldnt hurt. Just means less heat around the 360 which is good. lol
Mine sits on the shelf below my 360.

Mines on the floor next to my surge surpressor. I'm constantly checking heat on both the 360 and the PSU. So far even after 3-4 hours of non-stop gaming, I haven't so much as felt warm air on the PSU and I fill warm air being blowen out of my 360 but that's completely normal. My PC is hotter than my 360 and It's been fine for several years.
Strange, my PSU get's warm after like 5 minutes...
