I'm trying to create an Xbox Live account on my new Xbox 360 however I can't connected and when I go to test the connection everything goes until I get to MTU. I tried going to my router to change the setting but the only one there is is PPPoE MTU and it's greyed out since I don't use PPPoE. Anybody have any ideas here? Thanks for any help possible.

Almost forgot to mention I have a Motorola WR850G router.
The same this is happening to mine now. I have a belkin pre n router. I paid $100 for it and it isn't all that great to me. I think it is because I'm in a apartment. I have to move into my house man.
Well my router is right next to my 360 so I just used a wired connection so I can't have anything to do with where I live.
Same thing with mine. My 360 is 4 steps away from my router. It wont let me go online. It goes tot he same thing like you rsyaing and then it fails. Could it be because your gold expired.
Oh crap I am going to test mine now lol.

Well my router is working. Dont know what to tell you guys.
guys could be a firewall blocking problem. google it.

It has nothing to do with the firewall, it's testing send/receive speed. But I'll try it anyway.

It's not that my Gold expired, this is a brand new 360. I've never had an Xbox Live account so I'm trying to connect to create one.

I finally figured it out. I totally forgot about 5 months ago I turned Mac Filtering on cause somebody was accessing my router from the outside so all I had to do was put the 360's mac address in the fitler list and bam. lol I'm so stupid. Anyway I got a free month of Gold and after that I'll be able to afford a yea membership so everybody add me! My gamertag is ZipCrash.
