The store I bought my 360 at just had the cores and hard drives left, so I bought one with the add on hard drive so, I bring it home and it works great except that it only says I have 12 gigs when I save games. Sad Is there something wrong or did microsoft release a hard drive with less memory than 20 gigs?
no all of the hard-drives are 12gb's just to hold system stuff, sorry about that!
Has anyone deleted everything from the hard drive to see how many gives that leaves???
i tryed and i was left with 13gb still!

lol yeh!

It seems like sort of a rip off that the websights say 20 gigs.http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/x/xbox360harddrive/
It's the truth though... it didn't say 20 available gigs...

Basically they lied Laughing

Sorry... I need things simplified for me!
You can delete all that no-use crap and you end up with 13GB. The extra 7 is for games that are good.
Most hard drives that you buy are marked for example at 300GB but only have 280GB useable GB. The marking on the package is basically a roundage of the space in megabytes. For example, 300,000MB would be marked as 300GB yes? Well 300, 000MB only translates into 280GB. It still seems abit much, most 20GB drives should have around 18GB space. I think the 360 takes alot of the space for system files and OS and such. But still seems like somewhat of a rip.
