Yup. On my 2gb mem for my psp it only comes with 1989mb available. I think it has to be something to do with the system files.
On those memory sticks the difference in size is actually just down to the way that they count memory now. 2G used to be 2048M but is not anymore.
For the 20G hard drive though only having 13G, that is due to various demos music and videos that they put on the drive.
You'll find this under:
System -> Memory -> Hard Drive -> Videos and Trailers --- I found about 1G used here, including some French stuff
also under:
Media -> Music -> Hard Drive --- I had 12 albums here but I cannot see the size of them
You also have at least a Hexic arcade game and then the various default themes and pictures.
I deleted all of that stuff. I got back atleast 5gb. Now I just put alot of my pics and music on it.

I remember when psp first came out it was impossible to find a 1 gig or higher and very expensive when they were available... here anyway...

yeah it said on my xbox memory thing the capacity was 13.9 gigs so i guess a lot of stuff are used for the rest of 6.1 gigs which really made me kind of mad but 14 gigs are all i neeed pretty much so i dont mind.
