Howdy, my first post. My friend refered me to this site because i have a question over the hardrive / memory of the XBOX-360. Embarassed I was wonderin here, if you could use an external hardrive ( like off of a CPU that connects through the USB port ) on the 360 -- I bought a core package, so don't have a hardrive -- or if you could use a jump drive ( or called memory stick ) through the USB port to save games. I really aint lookin into all the downloads // rippin music, just need something for save games... Thanks.
Yes, I believe you can connect a external hard drive using USB ports. Here, I have an example.

Do you mean like a card reader? Yes, if that's what you mean. You can connect one using USB. Check number "9" on the list out.

There's also another alternative. You can buy memory cards. They are usually $40 if you don't want to waste $60 on a 64MB flash card and card reader. You just stick it into either one of the 2 memory stick slots in the front. Check this one out.

You could also buy the 20GB Hard Drive from Microsoft. They are usually $100. Don't mean to be rude or anything, but you should've bought the premium, that's all.

Hope this helps.
