My system is running through a 27 Sharp HDTV (Not Widescreen) with the sound running through a Aiwa 500 watt Dolby Digital Receiver with 7 speakers (1 front, 1 left, 1 right, and 2 left rears and 2 right rears) But if you want the best sound from yor 360, get a stereo with Dolby Digital and digital audio inputs.

My 360 is hooked up to my 51" Toshiba HDtv which is connected to my 1000 watt home theatre system via optical connection. The optical connections really do help maximize the surround sound.

now how did you hook up the 360 to your home theater system through optical connection, cause last time i checked the 360 had no optical input

no not optical input......but the 360 has optical OUTPUt for sound built into the HDAV cables.....that's what I was referring to...I simply took a toslink cable and ran it from the 360 to the optical input on my receiver

now does that make it so that you can watch movies in DTS?
