what is up with these shortages!

my parents were gonna get me an xbox360 for my b-day, but no stores had one in stock. my parents went to best buy, gamestop, walmart, target, shopko, and even k-mart, but they had nothing. i am dieng to get my xbox 360 and play it with my friends. my dad is gonna call everyday to see when one comes in. so he calls today and no one still has any except best buy got one only ONE! shipped to them today at 9:30 a.m. nad it was gone by 10a.m. how cant microsoft give best buy only 1 xbox 360? that is just weird. i bought a controller, a headset for live(im getting the core), and a game Perfect dark zero so im already but still no xbox 360. im going crazy!

The shortage is coming to an end. Peter moore (Guy responsible for leading the Xbox business) has stated "Within the next four to six weeks, anybody will be able to walk into a store and buy an Xbox 360". Hopefully you will get yours before then, I couldnt wait that long!
Go to your local food store. I got mine at a Shoprite store!
i got mine at costo they had a bunch of them.
Yeah. Costco is my favorite store. They have the best return policy. Bring it back after 3 months. Circuit City's get them today through the 11th.
Well, the shortages stopped, almost any store has em for retail price.
Feb 15, please stop resurrecting old threads unless you have vaulable info to add. Everybody knows the shortage is "ALMOST" over.
well, since this threads already been brought back to life, let me add something:
I was in the mall about 3 months ago and was walking by FYE... they had a big sign out front that said "Xbox 360 now in stock!!!" So I went in and was like "yo, hook a cracka up w/ a 360..." (or something like that) and the guy said that they didn't have any but were req'd by corporate to put the sign up, they'll have them in a couple weeks. MORONS! So I went next door to EB and copped one there... good look EB...
Yea stuff happens like that. Corporate tells you to put a sign up, you have to do it or else the store manager gets in trouble. I know how that goes.
It's funny how corporations would rather their stores be uniform but misleading to consumers rather than truthful...
I don't think it's that. I think they just put out a general rule so that's up there. If they didn't, store managers would be lazy and never put it up. Even when they came in. I'm not defending corporations at all, I hate them (even though I'm working for one) but believe it or not there is some logic behind it.
